I’ve decided to move this Peace Corps blog over to a different address. The only thing changing is the URL.
Please hop on over there and follow the adventure! http://pocketphilosophies.wordpress.com/
I’ve only been working in and around refugee work for a few months. Sometimes I hear a touching resettlement story. More often than not, though, I’m bombarded with policy papers and a rising death toll in Syria. It’s hard to feel the evocative humanity of the refugee situation, even from inside the humanitarian field.
Sebastian Rich has spent years closer to the stories: only a few inches, in fact. But even at that distance, war and hunger become a blur of deadlines and the perfect shot. Here, Sebastian remembers the beauty of humanity, right there in the dust and suffering.
This exhibit is at the top of my list this week–if you’re in DC, hit me up! Will post a reaction later :)
Keep the butterflies soft, my friends.
